APRENDIENDO A CONOCERNOS: EL PROYECTO - GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER: THE PROJECT

Here we are, ready to celebrate the Europe Day 2010. GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER is a project aimed for students aged 12-18 from different countries. We would like to celebrate the Europe Day in an original way so we've thought about the following some different schools are needed for the project, and if possible from different countries. Each school should group students into ten teams according to their ages and topics. That day, schools should arrange the classrooms and time schedules so that each group can write about a topic in one hour. Previously, teachers should have taken photographs of each student (13x15 approx), in which just their faces are shown. On 9th May, the photographs should be handed out to the students , who are to write about the topic at the back. Photographs in each group should be kept in an envelope with the address of the group and country assigned to them so that we can build a spider web. When the activity finishes, a representative of each group will go to the post office accompanied by a teacher (It would be a good idea to take a picture of that moment so that we can publish it on the blog.) When the photos are received in each school, students can share the information given by their pen-pals and decorate the classrooms with the pictures. Topics: Me, my school, my town, my country, Europe (eldest students.) The project is based on ordinary mail, but we are following the process in a blog. Students mustn't write their names to keep privacy This project aims to encourage pupils in each country to examine their school community, the local area, their country and Europe. By comparing these ideas with the partners, pupils will be able to develop creativity as well as it will help them reach positive conclusions about their own lives and those in other cultures. We are looking for teachers of English (or other subjects) in other European countries in order to develop this project, in which our students will practise English and other languages.







We have received the first letters: Bolonia


Gracias amigos de Bolonia. Acabamos de recibir vuestra carta y ver vuestras fotos en el blog. Agradecemos el esfuerzo que habéis hecho para escribir sobre vuestro colegio en dos idiomas. El contenido es muy interesante, y estamos deseando comentarlo con vosotros en el tweenspace muy pronto.

En nuestro instituto hay dos tipologías de estudio: el liceo lingüístico y el liceo de las ciencias sociales. Nosotros estudiamos en el primero, en efecto aprendemos tres idiomas extranjeros: Inglés, Francés y Español. Hay también un curso donde se estudia Alemán en lugar de español. Al comienzo del primer año se decide qué tipología de estudio quiere emprender el alumno.
Los sábados nuestra escuela está cerrada, por esto tenemos seis horas (8-13.45) todos los días de lunes a viernes (o sea, 30 horas a la semana).
Podría parecer más duro pero es mejor estar en casa el sábado.
Laura BAssi tiene dos edificios, uno más grande en la calle Sant’Isaia y uno en la calle Broccaindoso. La sede es muy grande y tiene cinco plantas: La primera se llama S. Agostino y tiene dos gimnasios, uno grande y uno pequeño donde hacemos ed. Física. Fuera del gimnasio pequeño está también nuestro patio donde los estudiantes se encuentran para relajarse durante el recreo (10.45-11.00).
En esta planta están también el laboratorio lingüístico y la biblioteca. La segunda se llama Vico y allí están las máquinas expendedoras, el despacho del director de nuestro instituto y la secretaría.
En nuestro instituto hay también un laboratorio informático y un laboratorio de física.
Para terminar, en nuestro instituto hay también otras 3 plantas: Pestalozzi, Quintiliano y Montessori (del nombre de famosos filósofos)

In our Institute there are two typea of study:
The linguistic study and the social science study. We study in the first, in fact we study three foreign languages: English, French and Spanish.
There’sb also a course where you can study German instead of Spanish.
At the beginning of the first year the student can decide which type of study he wants to learn.
Each Saturday our school is closed, for this we have 6 hours (8.00-13.45) everyday, from Monday to Friday (so we have 30 hour each week).
It could appear harder, but it’s better to stay at home on Saturday.
Laura Bassi t two buildings, one bigger in Sant’Isaia street and one in Broccaindosso street.
The seat is bigger and has got 5 floors:
The first is called S. Agostino and has got two gyms, one big and one small where we do phisical eucation. Out of the small gym there’s also our garden, where the students can meet each other for relax during the break (10.45-11)
In this floor there is also the linguistic laboratory and the library.
The second floor is called Vico and there are the food machine, the office of our institute’s director and the secretary’s office.
In our institute there is a computer science laboratory and a physics laboratory.
To finish, in our institute there also three floors: Pestalozzi, Quintiliano and Montessori (From the name of famous philosophers).
